If Cherryholt haven’t crossed your radar recently then get your head out of the Mersey and take a listen! The Lincolnshire 5-piece have only played one gig in Liverpool before, but their catchy hooks and no-nonsense approach to indie music makes them a must watch for any festival.  We sat down with Reuben Baskerville (guitar, vocals), Harvey Walsh (lead guitar) and Daniel Goldspink (keys).

Q: Tell us a bit about who Cherryholt are for anyone who might not have heard of you before.

R: We are a band that's still searching for who we want to be, but we think we found it. And there is a bigger project coming, which people can listen to. We like making music and we like Coldplay’s first album so [we’ve been] taking a lot of inspiration from that recently and we hope that we've got good live shows and we're always growing in that sort of aspect.

H: We kind of want to be an impactful band.

Q: Who are your biggest inspirations as a band?

H: There’s a band called Palace.

R: Mystery Jets are a big influence.

H: I think in terms of social media presence, probably Keo.

R: Yeah, Keo, definitely. I like the way that rock is happening, that that sort of area of rock is going.

D: Overpass, recently.

H: In terms of synth pop sort of stuff, probably Inhaler.

R: Bands like Arkayla started us doing socials as well and their songs are awesome.

Q: Keo are doing Sound City so I’m guessing you’ll be heading to watch them, but who else are you going to watch across the weekend?

R: Brooki, definitely Brooki. Westside Cowboy.

D: 100%

H: Keyside are playing, aren’t they.

H: Isn’t Jalen Ngonda playing?

D: That would be insane.

R: I’ve seen him a few times, he’s amazing.

H: We actually met him in Liverpool last year, we were just walking, getting some food, and we just bumped into him. He’s so chill.

Q: Where’s your favourite place to go for a pint in Liverpool?

R: The King’s Head near the Jac.

D: No it’s not The King’s Head, it’s The Red Lion.

H: It’s a big red building near The Jacaranda.

R: We literally drink in The Red Lion, and that’s it so it’s probably a biased opinion!

Q: You’ve got your debut headline tour coming up in May after Sound City too, are you looking forward to that?

R: We're really looking forward to it. It's quite a moment for us. We didn't think it would come as quickly as it did. Last year, we were just thinking, oh my god, how cool would it be to one day do a headline tour, and then six months, seven months down the line, it's like shit!

H: It's kind of weird thinking about our names being on a London headline or something so seeing that was pretty mental.

Q: How would you describe a Cherryholt show in three words?

R: Cathartic, energetic, catchy.

Q: What’s the one song that gets people going at your gigs?

R: The Bullet. Irresistible always does well

H: There’s a new one called 17 which is quite a good one live.

D: Yeah people seem to be liking that one.

R: There’ll be more that people will love from what we’ve got in store this year…

Q: What’s the music scene like in Lincolnshire?

R: We are the music scene! Like, that’s it.

H: There’s quite a lot of cover bands, like rock and indie cover bands but there’s probably a handful of original bands and not a lot of venues either.

D: It’s definitely one of the more quiet places in the country for music.

R: It’s a struggling scene and I hope we can boost some life into it.

Q: What else has 2026 got in store for you?

R: In one word, I’d say music. And then I’d also say hopefully growth.

D: We’re getting about a bit more in 26 aren’t we?

R: Yeah, getting about, big shows.

H: There’s a lot of festivals in store which is really fun, really looking forward to them. And especially towards the end of the year there’s a lot of dates that haven’t been announced yet which is really exciting.
