Megan Wyn and her Biggest Sold Out Show to Date, Live Review

Words & Photography: Alisha Lawton

19 year old Welsh rising star, Megan Wyn played her biggest headline show in Manchester to date at the Deaf Institute and completely blew the crowd away with her powerful vocals and remarkable music.

Supporting Megan at her sold out show in Manchester was the incredible Olivia Booth who showed off her impressive vocals and played her previously released singles and newest song a Kiss From Me To You. Also taking the stage was the staggering Wull whose music is moody and full of emotion. Both played an entertaining set to get the audience warmed up ready for Megan to take the stage.

Megan took to the Deaf Institute stage for the first night of her first UK headline tour. Her set consisted of previously released singles like Waiting For A Reason and Familiar Faces but also some upcoming unreleased songs by the name of Jealousy and Alice.

When playing her debut single You Don’t Get It,  Megan spoke about the song being about her moving from her hometown of Anglesey in Wales to the big city of Manchester. When playing the song live Megan gives it a different life making the song fit the rest of her newer music showing her growth from the first release of the song in August 2023 to now.

A few songs before the end Megan insinuated that she had a surprise for the Manchester audience and invited her good friends Dirty Blonde on stage with her. Megan asked the crowd if anyone was a Love Machine and when she didn’t get the reaction she wanted from the crowd she asked the question again and then played a fantastic cover of Love Machine by Girls Aloud which the crowd loved and continued to dance.

Just before Megan played her last song, which was Familiar Faces, she told the audience it’s one of her favourite songs to play live and that people had been asking if she was going to play the song on her tour. She responded that she ‘couldn’t not play it.’

It is clear that Megan loves to be on stage and feels comfortable performing to a packed-out room and in the future, we think the rooms are only going to get bigger!

Megan’s performance was full of life and utterly entertaining and from the moment she took the stage she owned it and oozed confidence. Overall, for her biggest headline show and the first show of her first UK headline tour it is clear that Megan is only warming up and the shows will get better every time.
